Based in the city of Rotorua, an artistic pakihi known as Maurei emerges, led by two young Māori designers. We have been fortunate enough to have transformed our passion for graphic design and toi Māori into a remarkable pakihi, offering a diverse array of creative services that breathe life into brands.
These services include branding through logo’s, publications, web design, signage and other illustration outputs.

After many years of trying to find my niche, I reached a pivotal point and entered the world of art and design. I obtained my bachelor's degree in Creative industries where I immediately fell in love with graphic design.
Through graphic design, I have been able to weave narratives and seamlessly integrate mātauranga Māori into all my creative ventures. It serves as a means of maintaining my Māori culture within the ever-evolving digital space.

My role within Maurei is ensuring that each design carries a profound cultural significance. It is my mission to honour the past while empowering the present through my art.
As a Tā Moko artist deeply passionate about Toi Māori, I have dedicated the last 10 years to preserving and promoting the rich cultural heritage through the art of Tā Moko.
Beyond my role as a Tā Moko artist, I am committed to share with others the knowledge that has been handed to me.
